CHEWING WELL KEEPS CALORIE AWAY & FRAGMENTED SLEEP HARMS MEMORY

CHEWING WELL KEEPS CALORIE AWAY
A new study finds that people who chew their food more take in fewer calories, which may help them control their weight. Chewing food 40 times instead of typical 15 times caused study participants to eat nearly 12 percent fewer calories, according to results published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

FRAGMENTED SLEEP HARMS MEMORY
Broken sleep affects the ability t build memories, a study of mice suggests. The Proceedings of the National Academy of Science findings could help explain memory problems linked to conditions including Alzheimer’s and sleep apnoea. The research found disrupting sleep made it harder for the animals to recognize familiar objects.
